I LOVE Crete, have been there many many times for conferences.  If money was no object I would retire there right now (i'd buy a small place in one of the little non-touristy fishing villiages on the Northwest or Southern coasts, sit on the beach all day, and drink raki all night).

Should we tell her?

It's been *beautiful* here - warm and sunny, balmy nights, gentle breezes.

Though of course next week it's supposed to snow.

Nah, Grypt, don't tell her that she's missed the best of the "summer"...

I thought the snow was only forecast for the midlands - with good warm weather to the north and south?

It's not procrastination. It's "just in time" delivery.

you people are just jealous! Of course you could point out that by taking my holiday just before classes start my next couple of weeks are going to be hell in dealing with student emergencies!

We are leaving Crete in a couple of hours. We'll spend the night in Athina then back for the snow by mid day Sat!
