I just finished making an old family recipe for a fruit salad with whipping cream and a custard dressing; I've never tried making this dish before.  Not too exciting, except that it worked!  It has to chill for 24 hrs before serving, but I can already tell that it's going to be yummy.

Eehh...the envelope would get pretty soggy, I'm afraid.  But, if you're ever in the neighborhood, I can whip some up for you!

Ok, I just completed one nasty and incoherent vent. So it's time to balance it out with some gratitude and calm.

1) Thanksgiving break starts in 3 hours.

2) I made an awesome plate of cookies for my students this morning. They appreciated it. I enjoyed baking and having someone to eat it.

3) It's a beautiful sunny fall day

4) My house is a wrecky mess, but that no longer bothers me. When I clean it, that's when it will be clean.

5) I've finally put books into my new bookcases at home. They look beautiful, all the books lined up in a row. I know that makes me a geek but I'm happy with that too.

6) I have good water in my water dispenser.

7) I have half my syllabi ready to go for next semester.

8) It's been a really long time since I couldn't find my keys in the morning. They are always with my purse or hanging on the hook I have for them.

9) Only 2 weeks + finals when we get back from Thanksgiving

10) My students were snickering and giggling in class today. Then I realized it was because the stuff I had on my powerpoint slide was supposed to be strange and odd.

I love your inhales, Melba.  It all adds up, doesn't it?

My inhale: only one (1) lecture left to write for this term!

I have nothing to grade this break.  Peace, quiet, and books to read.

Oh! I didn't even think about that. I have a tiny amount of grading to do, but nothing significant.

Where shall I send you your share of my labs?

Your professors were probably afraid of your galactic genius and did everything they could (behind the scenes) to thwart your hedginess.

Thanks! The darn Purple/red paper was just declined from another prestigious journal, so there's still that to place somewhere... But right now I don't care! Hee hee!
