I've lost 5 since December 31. Just a thousand more to go.

Is there a chocolate croissant diet? I really want one right now. Two days ago it was french fries, so I am sure that this, too, shall pass. But I don't trust myself to go out to my favorite coffee shop right now.

I've been looking forward all semester to getting back into a regular exercise routine once this Semester From Hell ends.  Now the end is almost upon me, and I'm back in physical therapy.  Damn.

Physical therapy counts as your "regular exercise routine".  Get those torture artists to work out a decent exercise thing you can do around the parts of the body that are getting the PT.

Alas, it's my back.  There's no (worthwhile) exercise I can do that doesn't affect the back.  PT involves exercises, of course, but they're not aerobic.  (My exercise of choice is my rowing machine.)

Infopri, I have to tell you, I've never been in better shape than when I was damn near crippled from back problems. (Some sort of disc/inflammation thing.)  In order to function, I had to do 2 of 3 daily: Pilates, yoga, calisthenics on an exercise ball.  I'd been doing sports for 20 years before my back disaster, but Pilates kicked my ass.  I also walked everywhere.  But no running, not much swimming, no biking, nothing aerobic.  I was about 7-8 pounds lighter than I am today, and I was a lot stronger, too.

It's timeconsuming, is the thing.

After a long weekend of travel, meetings and meals, I'll probably have gained everything back by the time I'm home. :o(

Thanks for the encouragement, tolerantly.  The good thing about rowing is that it's both aerobic and good for my back--but it can also destroy my back, if I'm not careful.  I'm hoping to get back on the rower in another week or so.

And I finally got My Better Half to take all his clothes off the stationery bike, so now that's an option, too.  :)

This can also be a good technique for bringing arguments to a quick and satisfactory resolution.

You have a bike that's made out of paper?  Sounds dangerous to me.

Actually, it's back to 4.5 after the long travelling/meeting/eating weekend.

Did you know that dropping $500 +/- on an exercise bike doesn't automatically cause one to lose 10 lbs?

Anyone else have exercise equipment sitting/holding laundry in a corner of their house? If so, what kind is it?
