Definitely the Chinese Water Torture. It seems as if I'm all secure and then one little thing keeps hitting me until it's a huge problem!

I think possibly the smoking-ban thread.

The ban on smoking, no doubt!

I recently attended a torture museum. My goodness, we don't do torture justice here.

There was one device, cannot for the life of me think of the name, but it's an iron ball that's somewhat oval in shape and roughly the same size as a tennis ball that is inserted into the anus, vagina, or mouth (depending on the offense) and then opened like a flower, as sharp edges could be spun and what not. At the least the tongue would be destroyed. We can imagine what internal injuries are possible with this devise.

Why does this work? (Well not my life, but this devise is fitting for many I know).

While on the TT, no speaking; after tenured, feeling as if you're "taking it d--" b/c someone new is making more $$ than you; and of course, for women, the existence of K16.

Water boarding.  Because I'm told it's not really torture.

Is that where you go on the back of a speedboat without skis? It looks like fun to me. Although it would stretch the hell out of the arms.
