I haven't taught at StateU, which is an hour away, for five years, yet there is one student from there I still run into here, in My Own City. He has a "real job," but he also works part-time at one of the pizza joints my husband and I patronize. It always embarrasses me that he has two jobs (one in our field) and I have none.
