There once was a woman named eye-to-eye
Who thought her intelligence was mighty high
"Idiot forumites, look at me!
I have a 720 Verbal GRE!"
Yet the concept of irony left her high and dry.

So you're saying you approve of bullying?

So you've returned, i2i?

What was in the posts that were so objectionable that they got deleted? I think I2I got banned for a while.

I would guess it was the post in Walker Percy's thread (quoted above) that finally did it. Of all her posts, it was the one that made my jaw drop, mainly because of the context.

I wonder if she is off on some other forum now, accusing the CHE moderators of stalking her? - DvF

I've been right here. Thanks.

Bullying in the classroom.  How to create a bully?

Don't forget the landmark blue eye/ brown eye (Eye of the Storm) brainwashing of 3rd graders as shown by ABC:

You can view the parts at:

Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESVm8F7q6Lw

Part 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9bkHKDbKho

Part 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjhU-s6Q0BI

-Of course, no IRB would let you do this now.

Tell me about it...I was in one of those experiments!  All my blue-eyed friends turned on me in about 5 minutes (the brown eyed kids got the special treatment).  It was traumatic.

Which thread would that be, DvF?

Her nasty, inappropriate comment (mentioned in contemporary's post on p.3 of this thread) is not there any more. - DvF

Thanks, DvF.  And, yes, I second the request for a paraphrase.

Zara, were you in Jane Elliott's class, or did some other teacher replicate her experiment?

Ah yes, sorry, I wasn't in the class that the article mentions but I was involved in that type of experiment back in 1977 when I was in the 4th grade.  The teachers involved the whole 4th grade class, separated out the brown-eyed kids and gave them special treatment for 2 days.  Didn't take long for my friends to get totally pissed (at me).  I didn't know what to do.  I remember just bawling on the 3rd day when the teachers explained it was part of the American Revolution curriculum we were studying (not!)...we were supposed to realize how the colonials felt mistreated by the British.

This is the thread in which EyetoEye gets banned. It may have already occurred.

Yeah, but reconfiguring the IP address is easy.

LarryC - quick and too the point as usual!  LOL!

Lets see; I am going to go on some discussion forum, make a pest out of myself, be nasty and confrontational, deny that I am being nasty and confrontational, post nasty and inappropriate things, because, well, I am just so smart and all the people on the forum are so dumb.  Get myself banned, and reappear and brag about it.

because I am so smart.

Brilliant i2i, or should I say, getmore.  You really must be a joy to have in class.

DvF - please do parpahrase, I missed it as well.

I get the students into a big circle and hold a Shirley Jackson-esque class 'lottery'.

Also, sometimes it is nice to shout "Mister Christian!  Assemble all hands on deck to witness punishment", and then whip out the cat and heartily flog some sprite who showed disrespect to the class Master.

Well, it was mainly bad because of the context.  On a thread in which WP was extolling the delights of his young daughters (if you look at the thread you can see the thread's flavor, one of sweetness and light), she barged in and asked how dare he say nice things about them but call her a wh*re.  It was jarringly discordant, and not the sort of thing a well person would post. - DvF

And I did not call her or even intimate that she is a whore. The last time I used that word was in Bible study.

Yikes. I was wondering what she could have possibly said that was inappropriate, given that the whole thread is about how fantastic and cute everybody's children are.

BTW, Walker, your daughters are clearly witty and beautiful geniuses. Who else would have thought to make art out of bread? You should frame it.
