What are classroom exercises you have designed to teach your students how to be bullies? Online, written, discussion exercises?

Sorry. You have some really weird ideas about academics. Did someone abuse you when you were younger? Are you trying to take it out on us?
I know, I know, DNFTT.

eyetoeye,
What do they call people who are always trying to pick a fight? A bully, perhaps? That's what you seem to be doing on several threads.
Here is advice on how to avoid being bullied: Act brave, walk away, and ignore the bully. Firmly and clearly tell the bully to stop, then walk away. Practice ways to ignore the hurtful remarks, like acting uninterested or texting someone on your cell phone. By ignoring the bully, you're showing that you don't care. Eventually, the bully will probably get bored with trying to bother you.
Why don't you try this? Ignore the posters that you feel are bullying you. I am hoping that you will get bored of this and stop bothering people here. I am normally pretty nice, but you bring out the bully in me. Now I am taking gennimom's advice DNFTT. Bye bye from this bully.

Well, when students complain about the cost of education, I teach them how to bully their representatives. If I have internet access in the room, I pull up our reps' websites and demonstrate how to write a letter. Then I explain that in my home state, the unit cost for classes at my alma mater has dropped 50% since I attended (some years ago) because voters think education is a priority there. We usually end up having a discussion about the costs of healthcare, child care or similar issues.
I teach them that the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and then I show them how to squeak.
Then I go back to lecturing about electrical potentials in neurons.

Very good. You know, I used to be a real laissez faire, low taxes, boot straps sort of guy. But the older I get, the more I think Canada rocks.

Well, we do the chicken exercise. We determine who is the weakest and then make fun of everything they say. When they start to cry, we say they are too emotional.
We also tell them that higher education is not for everyone.
This is a required exercise as outlined on page 17 of the syllabus. Anyone who has a legitimate excuse that excuses them from participating becomes the next target.
The only exception is for students who bring in a copy of their death certificate.

Too tired to think. Is that a death certificate for an academic?
