We seem to be in need of boats in my part of the UK... does anyone have one or two to spare?

You might be better off with open canoes - less likely to get tangled in debris.

I live by water, I have a canoe. It has not been needed so far. I would be feeling smug if I thought the rain might be over but I suspect smugness would be closely followed by retribution of the worst sort.
