Glad to hear your property manager is dealing with it, Anthroid. They sound/look disgusting.

[unrelated vent]

Dear Frontier Airlines:

I will not book a reservation on your website when you will not give me a seat assignment in advance. I already despise flying as it is, and I don't need that kind of added uncertainty. You fail.

My vent for today: I got onto the bus this morning to go to campus. There was an issue with one of the seats on the bus (I'll just say that it was in a less than pristine state and leave it at that).

Why are people SO FREAKING NASTY??  It makes me despair for the future of humanity.  Public transportation!  For your use!  And what do you do with it?  Something GROSS!  (I won't even speculate as to what, but I've worked in retail, and I have a good sense of the possibilities.)

This is why we can't have nice things, people of the world.  Because you puke/pee/poop on them.

In his defense, the perpetrator (we saw who it was) was an elderly guy who was clearly not in the best shape, health-wise. I didn't feel like I could hold it against him too much. However, in general I fully support your rage at humanity and its inability to share nicely.

(Unrelated to this, but related to my previous post: sorry I stuck that random underscore in your name, southerntransplant.)

Not so much a "vent" as a "shaking my head" ...

Newbie forumite sends a post a while back saying "I'm thinking of applying at Rural U" along with a litany of questions that could have been answered by a simple study of our website.

I am on currently on a search committee at Rural U.

Newbie forumite gave enough info to suggest that hu *might* be in our candidate pool.

Be careful, and do your homework - this does not make you look good.

Don't know where to start.  Took on a responsibility that should be helping me in my quest for tenure, but I'm starting to wonder if I've got the emotional and physical strength to carry it out during this particular year and not let every other aspect of my job and life suffer.  I'm also not sure who I trust any more to talk to about this.

And I've got a cold.

And I don't want to teach today.

And I've probably outed myself by now.

Dear Venting Thread,

Stop giving me nightmares. Those dreams of large insects infesting the house and making me sick were not fun last night.

Hmph.

For students, it could be a whole other realm of horror movie...
