Congrats on the VAP!

I'm also a VAP for AY 07/08 at 45K. I was told right away that there is no room for negotiations and so didn't ask for more. However, I did ask for help with cross-country moving expenses but was told that the U didn't allow help with that for VAPs. Now that I read that some others did get some help with that I wonder if I should have been more persistent, or at least asked before signing... I didn't want to seem greedy (!). Now I am thinking that was good practice for the market year ahead--as many of you have said, if you don't ask you want get anything. And I hear too many stories of folks stuck in awful contracts because they failed to negotiate. (TT)
