What should be done to address the gender disparity in admissions  at two and four year institutions, for associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees and what should be done to address the hostile and sexist anti-male envrionment in both the classroom and administration of American institutions of higher learning?

I am not a professor at all, despite what I say.

The solution comes in five parts:

1) Bring back monkey bars.

2) Lengthen recess (or in some cases, bring it back) and have one in the afternoon, too.

3) Let kids play with toy guns

4) Only issue drugs for the most extreme cases of ADD.

5) Get rid of the stupid rules in schools that say that both people in a fight get in equal trouble: don't punish self-defense.

You do those five things at the elementary school level, I guarantee you better academic results for male students.

Let kids be kids. It's okay for them to beat the snot out of each other when they're not on school grounds. They'll be friends when they're done. Teaching them "restraint" helps them bottle up their anger and then they shoot someone (not just kids at school--look at gangs! Why is it that we only care when it's something that happens at a white school?)

Quit offering so many damn services that help someone w/ an ACT score of 16 or below get through school. Not everyone should go to school and if they're at that level of risk, they should hire their own G.D. tutor. Use the money to offer more scholarships.

Oh, and develop a poll that doesn't over simplify the issue.

Have fathers and older brothers spend as much time, money and enthusiasm on science fairs and reading projects as on football.  Kids are given quite clear ideas about what's manly; studying isn't.
