Hi mods --

Not a life-threatening problem, just an observation.

According to the counter at the bottom of the main forums page, we've been at 8,894 members for some time. But the latest user to register has a user number of 9,152. New members join, and still that little counter stays at 8,894. I know that for various reasons these two numbers will never match up exactly (some user numbers are not used or are reserved for various administrative things, etc.), but to be off by 200+ seems like kind of a lot, particularly when the member count seems to have gotten stuck.

Just wondering.

Oh! I spoke too soon. Now it's stuck at 9855. And the 10,000th member is coming up! We need to be able to celebrate properly!

(Yes, I know it's silly. But it's fun. The world will not end if the member counter doesn't start clicking away again, but if you have a minute to give it a kick, that would be super.)

Perhaps there is a difference because the Mods have banned/deleted that many users.
