Have anybody taught there? Is this a 'traditional college'? How about students and faculty members there?

Mercy College has multiple locations, but I think the main campus is in Dobbs Ferry, NY.  This is about 20-30 (plus traffic) minutes by car north of Manhattan.

They do have a traditional undergraduate on-campus environment (I don't think there is any residence halls).  I believe they have a large on-line community - however I think that is mostly graduate programs.  A friend of mine completed an on-line Masters from Mercy - it was alot of work, but (IMO) well short of a traditional Masters program.

I can't comment on the Faculty there, however the student body is very diverse.  You have a fair amount of students from lower SE backgrounds - probably first generation in college with limited family support.  You also have a large commuter population from some of the mid to higher SE backgrounds for "under-performing" BMW students.

Hope this helps, I used to live one town over from Mercy and can tell you alot about the area if you're interested.

You would be right. It's Westchester County--not quite as rich as its Connecticut counterpart, Fairfield County, but they make it up in higher taxes.

It's a beautiful area, though. Dobb's Ferry is right on the Hudson River.

Mercy is Catholic (pay is probably not great) and runs classes all over Westchester and NYC. Anyone needs a class-they will provide one. They also run some of the NY prison classes, so yes, it's diverse.
