I think we need a new thread, one for pervert cats.
My two never do the kinds of sick, horrible things you people discuss. And they say it's a victimless crime, but, people, think of the wool fibers. If chewed, do they not bleed? If humped, do they not pill?
How do you know that my pillow doesn't enjoy Big Cat's attentions? I've never once heard it complain.

One of my cats loves to pretend-fight and often picks on my other cat, which is about half his size and has none of his ferocity. But we have a friend's cat visiting us at the moment, and he matches my Big Cat pound for pound--and apparently enjoys mock-fighting just as much as Big Cat does. We had quite a show last night! I think they went at least eight or nine long rounds before they got bored.
A friend of ours has a gigantic marmalade tabby, who weighs at least 17 pounds and resembles Jabba the Hut, except cute. He's very, very sturdy and rotund and in the past has enjoyed jumping playfully on other cats (invariably smaller) that he lived with. He was the boss. Now, however, the friend has obtained a kitten... but it is not a normal kitten. It is half-African feral cat. It's called a Savannah cat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savannah_(cat) It's still a kitten and it already weighs 15 pounds. It's expected to be 25+ by the time it's grown. And it likes jumping playfully on other cats, too. Here's a photo of a full-grown Savannah cat: http://leisureguy.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/savannah-kitty.jpgJabba the Cat is going to have some adapting to do...

Holy cow, that's a tall cat!! Yeah, for real! And apparently some Savannahs can jump 8 feet vertically from a standing position (no run needed).

My cats would lose it if a cat that big came in the house, never mind the dog!

Yeah. And imagine if your Savannah cat got sick and you were supposed to force a pill down its throat, or ram an eyedropper between its teeth, etc. Fun fun fun! Hope you're wearing Kevlar underwear!

Savannahs are real physical, intelligent cats. Really kind of dog-like in some behaviors, which is why some people go for them. This is a good site for information: http://www.sweetspotssavannahs.com/?page=introduction They are definitely galloping cats, and are good at opening doors via the handles : ) Pilling a Savannah isn't necessarily hazardous -- putting the medicine in a flavored capsule works pretty well for some. I have more trouble shoving a pill down my tortie's throat than some of the Savannah owners I've talked to.

The two cat threads keep showing up next the the "mouse plague" thread...wonder if there's some synergy there, or something?

I would love to have a Savannah. Expensive, though, and I specialize in rescues. Eh, maybe someday.
Right now my cats are on watch mode. Paine, the rooster, has almost reached his end. He seems comfortable, but I think he'll be gone before bedtime. He's lasted more than 9 years--far longer than if he'd stayed put on that McNugget truck he escaped from.
The cats have been taking turns checking on him and sitting around his cage alternately chattering and looking back at me. If they think they're finally going to get him after he's gone they are in for a serious disappointment.
He may be a chicken, but he's still family, you little heathens.
