Oh, you never know about test writers.

I had one this semester define Modernism:

"Modernism is the literary term that was the development of literature from pre-Modernism to Modernism." 

I laughed so hard I nearly peed.  Then I gave them a point for the laugh.  It didn't help their grade much.
