I woke up after a dream that my dream job (which I recently interviewed for) was canceled due to lack of funding. Argh!! My poor SO wishes I would think about something else for a while. . .

I had one the other night that I was having on-campus interviews at schools I had never even applied to and one of the search committee members was a member of my orals committee who has since moved on to another school (but not the one I was dreaming about).  Apparently I need more sleep and less time on the wiki.

Before I got any calls for MLA interviews, I dreamt that I would have one. On Friday night, I had a dream in which I had a campus interview. I still haven't gotten that phone call/e-mail, but tis might be a good sign.  I'm waiting on SLAC''s, and according to all I've been reading, they can take a LONG time in contacting candidates.

How sad that we have nothing else on our minds and we're dreaming about interviews!

At least yours was only a dream.  It actually happened to me, just before I applied.  I saw the ad on a Friday, spent the weekend preparing materials, and by Monday, the ad had disappeared.  I called to check and the funding for the position had been revoked.  The job was at my undergrad university in a town I grew to love while I was in school.  It involved working with technology, which is perfect for me.  And my in-laws live there...this could go either way.

Sigh...I suppose it's better that the job disappeared before they filled it.  It would be terrible to get a great new job, only to have to find another one very quickly.
