Good morning! I'm not sure how much the hot toddy worked. (And it didn't taste all that great, so I should find a better recipe.) I sweated out some of my cold. But I woke up at 4:30. It was only to go to the bathroom and blow my nose, but then I decided to take more cold meds, since I only have four-hour pills. Then I got back into bed, where cramps kept me from falling back to sleep. So unbelievably I got up. I put all the random cups from yesterday in the dishwasher and turned it on. And I've since graded my day's allotment of papers.  Some time today I'm sure I'll collapse. But I've done the bare minimum, at least.

paddington, paddington, paddington. When we're sick we're not supposed to get up and do dishes or grade papers. We're supposed to stay in bed / on the couch with fun reading and/or TV. And yes, you need a better hot toddy recipe. Hope you're feeling better soon!

To Dos: Weekend Edition!
  • exercise & vitamins
  • litterbox detail
  • German review
  • prep exams for class 2
  • plot out next two weeks for class 2
  • prep sentences for class 2
  • complete draft of R&R
  • ironing; fold, sort, 'n put away
  • clean: kitchen; bathroom; LR and DR; deal with hallway rug (and since I've complained in the past, I should point out that housework has been made much much easier by Hubby taking on many of the chores.)
  • draw up To Dos for Monday
  • draw up menus for week
  • rake 'n bag leaves
  • draft out that letter

Good morning octo, paddington, and erictho,

It's awful to be so absorbed in one's own problems that we fail to notice things going on around us.

Anyone near Augusta, GA? We need a ride. :o( We've crashed and are stuck in the median waiting on a tow. Not really hurt, but rather unhappy. I guess we'll find out how good the car insurance is.

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better, octo, except for the coughing. And I apologize for just noticing this and responding days after the fact. Good grief.

Today's list:

  • Prepare lectures for next week (even just Monday's will do)
  • Prepare "beg" letter for research project
  • Get additional research for February paper (draft due this month)
  • Make a big batch of halubki and freeze some for lunches and dinners (maybe I can go into the halubki business; they're popular here but not commercially available... heh heh)

octo, since you're usually the exemplar for overworking, I got confused! :) If it makes anyone feel better, I did go back to sleep at about 10:30, and just woke up about 10 minutes ago. It even sort of  made me feel better. My head is clearer. But/And my coughs are phlegmy.  I actually watched a lot of TV yesterday to help myself feel better. This is just a bad weekend to really not doing anything.  I really didn't want to get behind on grading papers, if I want to turn them in on Wednesday. (I don't need to turn them back on Wednesday, I guess...But I get another set then.)  I absolutely do have to read for tomorrow's classes, though, since otherwise I won't be prepared at all.

Good afternoon gnu, paddington, erictho, and wild rose.

Note, paddington, my distinct lack of any proper list for the weekend. I am an exemplar for resting up when ill!

Today, I'd like to, but may or may not:
bathe
call Mama
call elderly friends
watch a DVD of some sort
flop on the recliner and do nothing
read some more online articles about my hobbies/sports

Monday
prep for Tuesday classes
S Committee
return PC form to T

Wednesday
prep for Thursday classes
F Committee

Friday
work on OM#14 presentation
B training course

No idea where the long term list is many pages back.

Someday
possibly rerun all the analyses for OM#1 using the slightly cleaner data
