Good evening scampster, verbena, zarathustra, paddington, scotia, erictho, and wegie!

Get 'er done, doctor scampster!

Still feeling icky. I have stayed in the recliner and worked on the computer while trying to breathe and also watched the big football game.

Today, we have sort of a to do list and sort of a wish list. I feel like using bullets today.

Friday
  • wake
  • crawl to recliner
  • breakfast
  • figure out what we are doing about visitation and funeral timing
  • figure out what we are doing about visiting Mr. W's Mom, given the funeral stuff and my ickyness
  • finish grading last quarter of 419 exams
  • lunch
  • watch ball game
  • try to rest (physically) and get well
    • Have walked to the kitchen a couple of times and otherwise am glued in the recliner.
  • thingamabob #6, #7, #8, #9 (or as many as possible)
  • supper
  • meds
  • collapse

Here's a listy brain dump for the rest of the semester. Will organize it better later.

Over here, this weekend, still:

mark 15 12 papers and calculate final grades for that class
get to the supermarket and the fish store
skim that book
write those two recs
read that book proposal
write that grant report
apply for that other grant
tote that barge
lift that bale....

Oof, I've been in full on family mode when I haven't been participating in irritating class debates.  Now I am just glad to be back in my own place for a few hours of solitude.  Today will be all day family.

Only almost killed SIL once.  Not bad.

Paddington,

I have been eyeballing an itouch for a while now as well... I'm trying to decide if the 8G will go down after the holidays...

I'm thinking that the 8 is too small for me. But the 32 is too big. But it's better to have one that's too big than too small, I guess. I'm guessing/hoping that the price will go down before or after Xmas. If not, the $30 difference - while significant, I guess - isn't enough to get me to buy it in the next four hours.

The idea that classes start again on Monday thoroughly depresses me. Made better somewhat by the fact that there are then only 2 more weeks of school. That fact, however, has its own depressing aspects.

Speaking of depressions, in my wine- and tiredness-induced depression last night, I decided that my New Year's resolution needs to be a big one. I'm not sure what, exactly, but it has to be BIG.

The day will/should go as follows:

soon: get off butt and move upstairs
next: take off sheets, rotate mattress
then: go through drawers and closets
followed by: exercise and shower?
subsequently: hungry yet?
and: see where things stand for the day

Here's my Thanksgiving break task list (actual tasks and actual completion may vary):
may vary):

Domestic
change sheets on bed
rotate mattress
do laundry 1X
go through closets/drawers
donate clothes to Salvation Army they're in bags, but not sure when I'll drop them off
clean bathrooms
get car inspected and oil changed
a little yardwork

Academic
read for class1
start book for spring
grade class2 papers
do stuff for D

Fun
go through magazines
go to movies
go to mall - NOT on Black Friday
finally finish fun book

Oh crap---the trash.

Tomorrow I paint and go back into survival mode...what do I absolutely HAVE to do to this weekend get through the week?

I've decided since I'm painting and I have two dress rehearsals Sun. and Mon., that I won't clean this weekend, and I'll do some emergency tidying on Tues., my "light day."  But  I think I have to paint before the pressure is on to move out of the temporary office back into the renovated office.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Write up Faculty Dev. Spending
Submit Fri. Recital form for Nutcracker
Write EA’s Comm. Review for P&T
Do IDEA form
Start painting office---->tomorrow
--look for stuff in my garage
--get supplies from Walmart
--get paint
---tape off sections

set up Flute Studio Christmas party
practice ---> in progress

Oh...I have to take out the trash too.(see above)

Afternoon all!

<snuffle, snuffle, snuffle>

After a lazy morning in bed, we have emerged. WH seems intent on assembling the IKEA flat pack. I think that getting out of the house to avoid the fate of watching him seems like a good idea!

  • Coffee
  • Shower
  • Dishwashing
    • Unload last night's
    • Plates and glasses
    • Pots and pans -- just about to go in
    • Tonight's dinner things
  • Shopping (me) -- yesterday's list wasn't as comprehensive as I thought it was :-(
  • Assemble thing from IKEA (WH)
  • Make Christmas pudding (WH) -- yes, it is a week late, but at least he's got around to doing it this year!
  • Watch rugby -- Come on, Ireland!
  • Start tidying front room and moving vast numbers of book boxes
  • Start assembling new bookcases?
  • Dinner -- salt cod, either with chickpeas and chard or Vizcayan if I can get some dried peppers
  • Slump
  • Bed

Wow, how did 4 days with no classes pass with so little progress on the grading?

Actually, I did do some serious organization at home.  My evening of grading was interrupted by family drama.  Today I will get things done.  Woe to whoever tries to get in my way.

-breakfast
-work grading on 200 level exam

Good morning.  More family today.  Between group work and family stuff I've been spending way, way too much time with other people.  Psycho-Hermit Malcha is coming online.

My internet connection is having problems -- ISP's website says it is their fault, but doesn't say anything about how it will be fixed in the immediate future.
