Go, Verbena, go! Paddington, sorry you can't drop one. Hey, everyone else.
Time is crunchy!
Delayed by asthma attack and general not-wellness this morning. I'm going to have to stop at home first instead of going straight from campus.
Today:
- wake up at 8AM - check tire pressure to see if it held overnight (valve is missing cap; it's possible we lost air that way) - if pressure is low, call car place - and if they can work quickly, take car to tire place (N/A)
- water plants
- put dirty dishes into dishwasher and run it (drained standing water, good enough for now) - pack suitcase for Thurs.-Sat.
- take out trash - remove bottles of tea and oil from trunk (good enough) - pack suitcase, laundry into car
- drive to campus at 10AM - class at 10:30AM - reception for award at noon - send e-mails - drive 150 miles - eat dinner w/MIL - concert at 8PM! - do several loads of laundry - sleep by 1AM

Time is crunchy!
I think this may be my new favorite cosmological observation. Would a true friend -- knowing that I have a paper due Monday and one due Tuesday and a number of research obligations brooding about me like grim mountains -- have pressed a Georgette Heyer novel into my hands? It is currently locked in my locker while I continue to try to generate prose.

Oh look! Chocolate! Yummmmmmmmmm!octo, I'm glad I'm not really in a field that requires me to have to lug around a laptop all the time. Well, if I had prepared both presentations before I left, I could have come without the laptop, I suppose. But I do like to be available by email to my students. I could use an iPhone but I'm too cheap and my eyesight isn't really good enough to do much on such a tiny screen. Food has been eaten. My tummy is now happy, though I was disappointed that when I'm this close to Mexico the chicken quesadillas aren't as good as at home. OK, should I finish the slides for OM#9 (presentation in the morning) or start some new data crunching (just got a new idea at lunch and I have all the data but it ain't all in one file so requires some merging and suchlike) for something that will fit into OM#10 (presentation tomorrow afternoon)? Hmm? Time is crunchy!
Au contraire! Data are crunchy!

Or Orange or LA County? (Half-sigh.) I can't believe that I actually came up with a good essay assignment relatively quickly. Now it's on to reading for class1, I guess. Which will probably be followed or interrupted by a nap. ~breakfast~meds ~shower/get dressed~doctor's appointment~pick up dry cleaning~get lunch while I'm out?~home~lunch~work on essay assignment for class2~do very minor dept. stuff~read for class1 ~other things ~read paper ~dinner ~TV ~meds? ~bed paddington

Oh, and accreditation reports are also quite crunchy. Food has been eaten. My tummy is now happy, though I was disappointed that when I'm this close to Mexico the chicken quesadillas aren't as good as at home.
"This close to Mexico" means San Diego? (Sigh.) Or Orange or LA County? (Half-sigh.) I'm not that far west. You can't get from Octoville to CA by this time of day, or at least not without your own private jet, I suppose.

I hate grading. I hate grading quizzes on tedious forms. I hate re-grading quizzes on tedious forms because the TA screwed up. I really hate then having to alphabetize. I can't decide if I hate grading quizzes on tedious forms more or less than I hate alphabetizing. I also hate being cranky. To Do: exercisegrade quizzes for class 1, class 2A and class 2Bdeal with those other quizzes for class 1!record grades for class 1, class 2A and class 2B and class 4- deal with letter
- deal with that proposal

- grocery store
- family dinner
