I just completed my first semester teaching online. We, as others, had some training to go through (5 week course that simulated an online course) to be able to be allowed to teach online.

We use WebCT and I didn't find it that bad. Of course, this is my first experience as an instructor with it (I have used previous versions of it as a student) and I have nothing else to compare it to, but overall, I think its a pretty good product. I wouldn't mind taking a look at other products though.

I wish I could adapt Moodle to work in months, not weeks. Anyone have any idea. The only options I see are weeks or themes.
Just use Topics (Themes?) format and treat each topic as a month.

So you can title the topic as month. ie. January, February, etc?

That you can.

Or if you have enough support I suppose you could add a months format (probably by modifying the weeks format).

Thanks. Well, not enough support at our university. Unfortunately, they opted for Moodle over WebCT because of cost and so they didn't hire enough tech types to help the user out. We are supposed to go to the Moodle community for this kind of help. Anyone else have any idea how i would modify weeks to be months?

I am currently taking a short professional development course which uses moodle. I like moddle, but unfortunately my fellow students don't seem to make as much use of it as I would like to.

We use ANGEL from CyberLearning labs for our online courses and it is very easy to learn and set up for non-teach instructors, but for anyone who wants to add lots of bells and whistles, it is alot of flexibility.

In most cases, it is able to handle importing files from the textbook companies.
