You guys need to read some Janos Kornai and Friedrich Hayek.
Yeah, I'll get right on that. Thanks for taking the time to tell us who they are and how their ideas are relevant.

I'll help:
János Kornai, (1928-), born in Budapest, Hungary, is an economist noted for his criticism of the command economies of Eastern European communist states.
Friedrich August von Hayek, CH (May 8, 1899 in Vienna – March 23, 1992 in Freiburg) was an Austrian-born British economist and political philosopher known for his defense of liberal democracy and free-market capitalism against socialist and collectivist thought in the mid-20th century. He is considered to be one of the most important economists and political philosophers of the twentieth century.
And I don't even have an MBA. Hell, I've never taken a college economics course. It's a wonder I can even buy groceries. ; )

Hillary's going to win. She has the money, the best strategist in the country, and from what I've seen so far she has learned Bill's ability to say what she doesn't believe with absolute confidence and grace.
Hillary's going to win.
Hillary is not going to win. The religious right she's her as the anti-Christ. If she is nominated it will mobilize the rr base and then she's history.

Am I the only person here who has to stifle the urge to type all sorts of horribly politically incorrect things as a response to the title of this thread when I see it pop up on the updated topics?
Every time I read it I hear Steve Buscemi saying "Why do I have to be Mr. Pink?" and... well, you know what comes after that.

Such as? I have watched a few episodes of 24. It is excessively violent, and just silly that Jack can do all those things on his own. Is he really the only one who can do it? The world would have ended about 24 times without Jack. I digress... There were 2 black presidents. They were brothers. One was brilliant, honest, and loved by all, with an evil ex-wife. He was assassinated when no longer in office by Jack's father, and Jack was framed. The other was not as brilliant, and not as loved, and about to be assassinated in the last episode I watched. Which developments are you discussing?

The assassination(s) for one, the difficulty each had holding office for another.

I did a general search on salaries and negotiation (campus visit soon), and this thread popped up. I had never seen it before, and it was fascinating to look through considering that Obama was sworn in earlier today. I guess the OP got their answer, even if it wasn't what hu expected.

I am normally opposed to the resurrection of zombie threads, but this is terrific. Welcome to the forums, Stardanced.
