The National Endowment for the Arts did not award a grant to Tiger Team One or any other organization or individual associated with a report appearing on the Chronicle of Higher Education website and forum.

Tech Editor, please provide the link where this was "reported" in CHE.  Aside from this thread, I mean.

Our N.E.A. grant is up for renewal!

Pantherleader, give it up.  Most folks here neither play nor care about WoW.  Report to Mod Squad's FAQ thread and the CHE's TOS for further instruction on the purpose of this forum.

Although the N.E.A. spokesperson repudiates our grant, I assure Tiger Team One's funds are ample, and I reiterate our offer of 5 silver pieces to chosen applicants.

Our N.E.A. grant is up for renewal!

N.E.A. funding is crucial to the long term success of Tiger Team One.  The Northrend Exploration Association has many guilds from which to choose and we must make sure Tiger Team One remains it's "go to" strike team!

It seems pantherleader is having some fun with everyone's assumption that N.E.A. is the National Endowment for the Arts.   I think he(?) gave us a clue - the Northrend Exploration Association????

This guild could be the largest collection of terminal ABDs online anywhere!

A World of Warcraft guild populated with academics.  Neat.

Doesn't that pretty much describe the CHE Forums?

Well yes, but on the CHE forums you don't get to kill stuff, snatch their booty, complete quests, and gain power.  Fun stuff, that.

You're clearly doing it wrong, then.

The OP is pulling your collective leg, people.  It has made me laugh out loud a few times, though.  I think this is my favorite:

Our N.E.A. grant is up for renewal!  Xsis the Wise, Sage of Orgrimmar and Prothonotary to the High Council, has demanded that Tiger Team One submit the following material:

1.  Evidence of Effectiveness.  In the past, Tiger Team One has submitted Night Elf ears.  However, Xsis the Wise has threatened our funding because the ears themselves are not indicative of the strentgth of the foe.  He suggest whole demon heads, dragon heads, etc...

2.  Evidence of Progression.  Xsis the Wise write, "Tiger Team One has secured a fearsome reputation, but we worry that it is has become complacent.  Is Tiger Team One resting on its laurels?"

3.  Compelling Need.  Quite frankly, I'm shocked that they would ask us to justify this!  Even in his study in the Valley of Wisdom I am sure that Xsis can hear the screams and lamentations of the women and children that suffer from the nightly Alliance attacks on the Crossroads!

Please review the above criteria.  We will meet in Bloodhoof village to discuss how best to respond to Xsis.  N.E.A. funding is crucial to the long term success of Tiger Team One.  The Northrend Exploration Association has many guilds from which to choose and we must make sure Tiger Team One remains it's "go to" strike team!

Go Tiger Team One!

The guild was of much more help than you people.

By joining the Tiger Team One, I have enhanced my CV and done all the networking that you people always spouted off about.

I have managed to become a level 20 adjunct and, with the next planned raid, we will annihilate some deadwood and take control of the department.

My copy of "Getting to Yes" comes in handy as a missile.

Well it's certainly not because of spending time posting on the CHE...

Wait.  So you're saying that the check isn't in the mail for good advice, witty entertainment, and well deserved snark that I've dispensed over the past year?  That's the last straw.

Farewell, Cruel Fora!  If I'm not getting paid, I'm outta here.
