So I'm walking down the hallway today and I notice a new posting on one of the bulletin boards- it's a black  and white xeroxed photo of one of the choir students with the words "Attention all single males- (student's name) wants to give you some lovin this cold winter season. He is open for all bisexual activities. His number is XXX XXXX."
Needless to say I ripped the poster off the wall and ran around ripping down all the ones I could find- 10 in all. As I passed the music lab, I could hear students inside saying "Did you put them up? Where did you put them?" When I walked in and asked if any of them knew anything about the posters, not one of them would look me in the eye.
I called the Dean of Instruction, the Dean of Student Development and security to review the tapes to see who put them up- I am SO FURIOUS- I know that this student can be a little irritating (and is firmly in the closet), but I cannot imagine the type of human who would do this. Just needed to vent...

Ugh.  What an ugly situation.

You did a good thing today, diveprof.  The targeted student may never know about this cruel bit of harassment thanks to your refusal to put up with it.  I hope the teeny, tiny little brats who pulled this stunt are dealt with appropropriately.  Please let us know how it works out, if you hear what happens.

Good for you, indeed.  I hope the miserable excuse for a human being who did that is caught and is kicked out of university.  Surely that would violate the sexual harassment codes, if nothing else.

Indeed.  You done good, diveprof.  Sooner or later the idiots will be uncovered and you will be able to show them what real courage is.  Good for you.

Not cool.  I'm surprised at the low-tech nature of this "prank" too.  I thought they did all of their harrassing online these days.

Not that it matters, but it isn't even original or funny. It's basically a "for a good time call" joke, which has been around forever.

Diveprof, I think you get extra good karma points for doing that. I hope the miscreants are caught.

It sounds as though the perpetrator was in the music lab.  Did you know the students in there?  If so, they all can go to the Dean, one by one, until someone cracks and squeals.

Regardless of whether they are caught, I have to agree:  you did a GREAT thing.

I don't know... I suppose you did the right thing, but I'd have a hard time differentiating that poster from all the other hyper-sexualized crap that's up on walls and kiosks around here.

It sounds like that poster was targeting a specific student, not just the generic advertisements that end up on university walls.

This brings up an interesting point--schools that tolerate sexual graffiti on walls, bathroom stall, library cubicles, etc., render themselves exceptionally vulnerable to hostile environment sexual harrassment charges.
