NZ job search timelines

Does anyone have a good idea of what the typical time frame is between close of applications to shortlist and then to interviews in NZ? In the U.S. many search committees wait until the position is filled before notifying all candidates of their status. Is this the case in NZ as well?

I applied for a job in NZ this year. They notified people about whether they had made the medium/shortlist a week and a half after the application deadline. They seem to be very efficient.

LMAO. Efficient. OK.
I got a job in NZ, and it took a while before I heard that they were interested in me after I applied. The process has to go through a central office here before it gets to the department at my university. I have no idea how it could have gotten through in a week and a half at the university you applied to. But miracles can happen, I guess. :)
It also would depend on when they need you for the job. My hiring went through less than two months before I had to be down here teaching, and you can guess it would have taken longer had they not had that deadline to worry about. The reality is that if you get a job, you will need at least two months to get ready, and even then you will really need to step on it to get down here with all of your paperwork done.
