Someone previously, VP I believe (Can't remember - I have been drinking in order to fullfill the requirements of this thread.), mentioned chocolate vodka.  Who makes it?  Where can I find it?  It sounds interesting and I'd love to try some.  I just might have to get myself some of those cool martini glasses, too.

This is the first time I've come to the forum after drinking.  I have avoided this thread because I didn't want to break the rule.

I'm a margarita drinker myself, that and wine, well and beer (but only good beer-my favorite is a good black and tan but those are sometimes ruined by incompetent bartenders. Of course, I also  like a good martini sometimes and I do prefer the vodka ones, but only on odd days. I used to really like tequila shots, but now I limit my tequila intake to my margaritas and I prefer the good stuff. It really does make a difference.

(I like being able to frequently and inappropriately use the comma in this topic where grammar rules are suspended)

Oh! it is super. I am going to have some just as soon as I get home (this is my last bit of work -- I'm visiting the fora while a CD is burning and then I am OUT OF HERE). So I am participating in this thread in advance.

Van Gogh is considered among the best chocolate vodkas, but I find there is an extra dimension to the flavor (coffee?) that isn't always what I want, depending on what I want to mix with it. If I want a coffee flavor, I add Kahlua Especial (no point mucking about with the regular stuff). There is a fairly nice chocolate vodka by Three Olives that is also more attractively priced than the Van Gogh. There are other brands (Goldenbarr, and some Russian ones I don't remember) but I haven't tried them.

If you are into chocolate liqueurs (love that word, by the way -- where else do you get "ueu" all in a row?), I recommend the Godiva over the Mozart-whatever-it-is. The Godiva is much better. There are other brands of this now too, but I am still a Godiva fan. Creme de cacao will do in a pinch, but it really depends on what you want to mix it with.

Yes, martini glasses are very cool. I collect single martini glasses (and have quite a collection by now) so that I can always choose the one that fits both my mood and the color of my drink. Yes, I am that retentive. Also, when you have people over for a martini everyone remembers whose glass is whose, at least for the first couple of martinis.

Thanks, VP, for all the chocoholic's drink suggestions.  I'll have to print that one out and take it for my next trip to the store.  Now, sadly, I see my wine glass is empty. :(

Martinis, gin, amaretto, Chocolate ****ing vodka? Shouldn't this thread be called "posting while delicately sipping a cocktail with one pinkie decorously raised"? What next? Academic alcopops? What are you all, a bunch of goddamn yankees? Don't they have bourbon where you guys come from?

But then who am I to talk? I'm taking water with my Dalmore single malt. Without it, it tastes like cough medicine. Wait, maybe I picked up the wrong bottle...

Amen to that.  Next thing you know, they'll be renaming the place "Klondike Bar and Girll".

Well, orginally, it was going to be Klondike Bat and Carl, but Carl's kind of sensitive because his ex-wife was from Alaska.  And then I hit the "r" instead of the "t" because I have six fingers on my left hand.  It's OK, though.  I've only got four on my right, so I can still count in tens.

Does crazybatlady like Carls?  I thought she batted the other way.

That's the way Carls tells it.  But I've known the guy for a long time, and I would be suprised if she left him for a ham sandwich.
