Dress code at APSA meeting
«

I will be attending the APSA meeting at the end of this month and was wondering what the dress code usually is at this meeting. I've never been before and PS isn't really my field so I don't have any friends/colleagues to ask. I'm female and was planning on wearing a suit on the day I have a meeting, but was wondering what would be good for the other days I was just going to attend sessions. I'm still a student so money is usually tight, so I wanted to see if I needed to invest in some new/better clothes before my trip.

I've gone a bunch to this one: men mostly wear khakis and polo shirts or buttondowns with the sleeves rolled up; women are in skirts (long or short) or slacks. Presenters are more on the business end of business-casual--the guys wear blazers with their khakis and women wear suit skirts but sometimes forego the jacket for a nice top and maybe a scarf. Enjoy--it's a great conference!

Yeah, sure - if you are into rational choice or developing formal models for Congressional elections in North Dakota.
APSA is appalling and a damning indictment of contemporary American political "science".
