As a student of Anthropology and US citizen hoping to pursue an MPhil in Social Anthropology in the UK.  I was wondering if anybody could provide me with any information regarding funding options?  I was also curious as to how easy/difficult it would be to find a job in the UK as a US citizen during training?

Funding would depend on the institution. Working would be very difficult but you might want to go to a forum such as http://talk.uk-yankee.com/ for advice.

Good luck.

Hi,
I'm in my second year of my PhD in the UK and am also a US citizen. You can recieve US government loans if the institution you plan on attending is accredited by the government. I have been seeking funding from other resources and have only found a few avaliable because I do not meet the criteria of many funders. There were a few scholarships avaliable at my institution but none for MPhil students. There was the Rotary but they are phasing the MPhil program out. Otherwise, on a student visa you are allowed to work 20 hours a week and I believe if you make under £5000 a year you are not taxed. Hope this is helpful.

Indeed.  You can use federal Stafford loans.  I took my PhD in the UK and used Stafford loans for living expenses.

The only problem I faced was that the Stafford Loan people didn't know that Stafford loans could be used in the UK!  (They don't list UK universities on their code list, or they didn't a few years ago.)  But they can be used, quite easily in fact.
