"Incentive based position"

Central Michigan University has a currently posted position for an Enrollment Advisor at their Metro Detroit Center. There is a specific statement that, "This is an incentive based position." My instinct tells me that this is just about the same as positions with similar titles at the University of Phoenix. Since I now work with two UoP escapees, I know that I'm not interested if my instinct is correct. Does anyone know anything specific about this position?

Why don't you call up their HR people or the enrollment folks and ask for a job description? This should tell you a lot.
It sounds like a fishing expedition, but there are a lot of institutions with better reputations than CMU's that use recruiting sites in major cities. It's not uncommon for rural flagships to have sites in larger metro areas to recruit students. If you want to be in enrollment, you're going to have to bring in the paying folks.
