Yes, there was always the obligatory "Satan" among first years.  There was an unofficial lottery/pool among 3d years (the "seniors."  Most Master of Divinity degrees - M.Div. - are 86 credit/three year programs so you have "juniors," "middlers," and "seniors.") as to which junior would think it novel and iconoclastic.

We had a theme year once - favorite prophet of doom/apocalyptic voice.

We had more than a few who came as "clergy" (again, thinking it novel).

Typical Halloween fare otherwise.

Lots of general drinking in the late hours (though always with a few who poo pooed, but they also tended to go home early) and such.

I should also point out: the denomination didn't have strict rules against drinking.

Surprisingly, too, I'd say the majority of the students were planning an academic career and were spiritually/ethically minded people, but weren't too pastoral.

Or a prohibition against Halloween in general, which you probabaly know has become common among the more evangelically-oriented Christians.  There was also some trouble over Halloween at my daughter's preschool with one of teachers who, as I later found out, was a practicing Wiccan.  Sigh...all I ever wanted for Halloween was a big bag full of candy, preferably Snickers and Milky Way bars.

Hi all - you might laugh at my own lawyer joke...when people ask if I've made lots of friends at the law school my response is that I have learned I don't much care law students.  (What that says about myself, who knows, but I have no plans to practice - I'm all policy).  Anyway, lest I remind you that I am closer in age to my professor than my peers in law school...I'm sure the students have great parties (and since we are a Tier IV law school, they must, in fact, be stellar), but I think myself too old to be going out at 11 PM to hang with a bunch of 22-24 year olds.

Joey, friend? You brought back a year-old thread to comment on the structure of the poll?
