I do not always feel this strongly about his pieces, but this one hit a chord within me. Perhaps it is because similar feelings for me are quite recent and still raw... I just could not help but feel that I know exactly what Thomas Benton means when he says:

"My dad -- who still occupied such an enormous space in my life -- was gone, irretrievably. And it was a mystery how all that experience and knowledge -- all that strength and integrity -- could suddenly vanish from the world."

Nothing more to add, just wanted to put this out there...
