Best wishes and sympathy and concern for those in the U. K. after the London bombings. I am so sorry and so sad.

Yes, everyone who posts here regularly from the UK, please let us know that you are ok. Everyone here is thinking of you and what has happened to our beautiful London and her people.

I think we were very lucky in the UK that there were not more fatalities than there were. From my point of view, God was very busy on Sept 11 and also yesterday in London, keeping people out of the wrong train carriage, etc. Here is a copy of what I replied to a similar post on the balancing forum:

"... from the moment I heard about it on the radio and switched on the TV, it was a very weird, September 11-like day. It made me feel physically sick, and I don't know yet if any of the commuters I know were there in Central London when it happened. I didn't dare call anyone yesterday to see if they were OK because the telephone grid was locked up (cell phone grid was quite rightly appropriated by emergency services) with people phoning friends and relatives, and I'd hate to block an even more important call. One of my friends from church has a daughter who actually works in and for the London Underground and has been worried about this happening for years. I was very pleased to hear at the first press conference the chief police inspector (not sure of his exact title) say that the people who did this, while probably Al Qaeda, are not true Muslims, that the faith of Islam does not condone terrorism in any way. I think it was good that he said that to prevent backlash against law-abiding Muslims. This morning on Virgin Radio they said that Ku Klux Klan is to Christianity what Al Qaeda is to Islam. Interesting. I guess most world religions are essentially peace-loving. It's mixing religion with politics that causes problems. Thanks again for your concern and moral support. It really was an agonizing experience for a lot of people. I heard that some restaurants gave out free food and drink to people walking home with no public transport available, and some stores had to stay open late to sell tennis shoes to people whose work shoes were killing them." Thanks for thinking of us. GEL

I'm fine as I don't live in London.  Everyone I know in London is fine too, though.  Thanks very much for the concern.  My sense is that people here are just very pragmatic about the whole thing, getting back to work and getting back on the tube.  Nothing is more effective in fighting terrorism than not being terrorized!  London is an amazing city, full of cultural and ethnic diversity and resilient, hopeful people from all backgrounds.

I don't post regularly; but I still would like to let you know that I am doing fine. I don't live in London, but was there the day of the bombings, in fact I was planning to take the tube going through two of the stations that got bombed, but  lazyness delayed me.

London will recover quickly. Britain has survived IRA terrorism (do you know why there are no public trash containers here?), it will survive this too. And with much less hysteria than there would be in the US.

Thanks for enquiring.
