I am fairly clear with E.U. marie curie programs, but are there other major national and international postdoc programs that are more oriented towared the humanities/social sciences/human sciences?    I tried to find the international postdocs through the nsf, but couldn't find them specifically, though i have the postdoc call.

for Germany: http://www.humboldt-foundation.de/
mexico: http://becas.sre.gob.mx/
for Belgium: www.baef.be (limited number), and www.fwo.be (visiting postdoctoral fellowships) : leave your email here on the forum if you need some more info. I will contact you then.

many universities have their own funding for bringing foreign postdocs over.

For Britain, check out the ESRC (for social science projects), the AHRB (for humanities projects) and the Leverhulme Early Careers Fellowship.  There's also one through the Nuffield Foundation.

Try the Netherlands. I'm familiar with NL through their Asian Studies  and Islam postdocs-- but if you do a websearch on those, you can find your way to OTHER humanities and social sciences institutes (many with postdocs) that are unrelated to Asian Studies.

Start out at http://www.iias.nl and you should be about to find your way to NWO (national science org.), IISG (inst. of social history), and other research institutes (of which there are a bazillion in the Netherlands).

Try also googling the Institute of Social Studies (www.iss.nl), the Hague.

And the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) in Wassenaar, Netherlands (**this one is very humanities oriented-- good for Philiosophy, European studies, etc.). There are also lots of multilateral orgs in the Hague that have postdoc type arrangements (but this is more for economists, agronomists, etc).

For Scandinavia, try starting out at the Nordic Inst. of Asian Studies (laso called NIAS) and finding your way to other institutes from there.

Elsewhere, try Sciences Po in Paris, France (they have all sorts of stuff goin' on there).

There are lots of possibilities, but, ya know, if you could just give some more specific clues about your area of specialty then someone might be able to give you more specific advice.
