Hi,
After reading discussions about the interviewed candidates and offers, I am starting to freak out.
I have applied for some teacher education and educational/instructional technology positions (total 20). I heard from none of them except UCalifornia-Irvine (rejected).
Are search committees for teacher education and educational technology positions contacting/interviewing candidates yet?
Thanks,

I am on a teacher ed. search committee and we haven't even looked at the pile of applicants yet. We are overworked and move slowly--

I'm in a speciality area of education, and am waiting to hear back from many, many schools. I think education works a little slower than other disciplines, for whatever reasons.

I am Director of Teacher Certification in my Department, and I have seen over the years that Education timetables are different.  I am in English, but most Ed positions are filled differently, and dare I say slower.  In short, we haven't started looking at our pile for an English-Ed position yet.  It won't be until mid-Feb.  Best of luck to you!

Thanks, Search Com. Chair, for this observation.

I'm finding this timetable issue extremely tricky, as some of the positions in English education are in English departments (and have thus already scheduled campus visits) while many more are in education departments (which in some cases have not really even begun).  The result for a candidate like me is limbo--- having to possibly accept or turn down offers from English departments with no  information whatsoever from more desirable schools in Education.

I am in a similar position with the Engl. Ed. candidate.  My area is broadly Math Ed and I decided to apply both to math departments and colleges of education that offered jobs in my area.  I have received numerous responses from math departments, both positive and negative.  I have two on-campus interviews coming up, and several phone interviews coming shortly, all from math departments.  Surprisingly, some of the colleges of educations had ever earlier deadlines than the math departments.
