I just received an emailed rejection (I had been among the ones asked for a writing sample).  Oh, well.

I'm puzzled because I don't remember seeing a Princeton posting this year.  Last year they had a "19th or 20th C. American" posting, I think.  Did they do that again?  I'm going to kick myself if I overlooked it.

To clarify my previous post, my partner is the one who was asked for a writing sample. I'm just a helpful nonacademic spending too much time on this site.

Which search is this?
The open ended one with several possible specializations like Performance studies, World Literature, etc.?

Yes, that's the one I was talking about:
"...one or more of the following interests: visual studies (film or media), cultural studies, performance studies, world literature in English, or any other areas that will expand our department offerings."

But the rejection mentioned they had two searches on.

Folks, who got the email rejections, did you all also get dossier requests?
Didn't the ad. ask for dossier upfront?

Well.  I got the email rejection today as well.
I applied for the broad "specialization" position, including performance studies and visual studies, etc.
