It may be a bit late to send the thank you note asked about in the OP.  After 4 years it's quite likely that many of the SC have moved on to other places, &/or probably wouldn't remember the candidate, anyway--unless, of course, s/he got the job, in which case a thank you note sent now might have colleagues questioning the OP's sanity.

Hint: If the poster names are in black (including the "Started by" name on the main page), instead of blue (assuming you are using the default page colors), and the posters are all described as "Guest" and show no post counts, the post dates to a time prior to registration requirements; AKA, ancient history.
