Thank you so much you all wonderful people, I am so grateful for all your advice! Even I've done some searches online it's great to hear about what experience other people have. After reading your comments, I feel much better about the interview and how to prepare for it. **Thank you**

My advice - since I've had a few recently - is to expect the unexpected. I have been asked typical questions mostly, but a few from left field, about my content area, were thrown in for good measure. Not that they were hard, but just unexpected in the context of the other questions... Just do your research about educational methodology (buzz words), think about typical questions such as why you want to teach there and what your philosophy is, and research the school, position, and anything else on the website you think may be important. Most of my questions were fairly routine - they're just screening at that point. Also, it was sort of hard to hear or know who was speaking. Don't be nervous though - just be yourself and be confident and prepare as much as you reasonably can, and what will be will be. Good luck and let us know how it goes...

The only thing that hasn't been said is -- if they are calling you at home, save the glass of wine (or cocktail) until after the interview.
Good luck

I found out after I was hired that the SC was having a puppet show during my interview. They were all sitting in an office of someone who had a nice little collection of pig stuff including a pig finger puppet. So at some point one of the SC members put on the puppet. Needless to say I wondered why some my answers seemed so overly amusing.

I had to schedule a phone interview at my office since it was a teaching day for me. I had my notes ready to go on my desk for the 2pm interview, though not fully arranged yet. At some point during my 10am lecture that day I was suddenly struck with a thought: when the secretary told me it was a 2pm interview-- they must mean *their* 2pm. They were on the east coast and I was in California! Arrrgh!
Anyway, I sweated through the rest of my class, let them go early, did my best to get rid of the students who always have a hundred questions after class and, literally, raced to my office. I grabbed my folder of notes and started to organize them when the phone rang. I was still panting and sweating for the first five minutes of the interview, too.
Anyway, my point is, if it's a different time zone, confirm the time!
