letter from current dept?

hi all - i wanted to see what people here thought about this idea:
i'm a scientist at a mid-level budget-crunched state univ in the midwest (no PhD programs). i'm looking at some small liberal arts schools back east, where teaching will be something of an emphasis.
for obvious reasons, i want to keep my search quiet.
i'm wondering if anyone with search experience thinks it would be a good or bad idea to confidentially include annual evaluation letter(s) from my dean and/or senior prof in my department? these have been very positive, and i'm thinking they would help avoid the "fear of psychos" mentioned in other posts - and also prevent an early questioning of my current department.
since these letters were written for inclusion in my file (1st & 2nd year reviews), i'm wondering if that then gives me the right to use them as i please?
thanks for your input!

I am in the humanties, also looking on the sly, but I did end up using some of the items from my file.
My university does a yearly eval with scores and written summative comments from the Dean, plus I do a self eval portion. I did include these yearly sheets in jobs where I made the next cut (i.e. they asked for more materials or a campus visit, or a phone interview) but didn't include them with the initial CV, letter, and references.
No one ever called to confirm these or to chat with my dean so I feel fairly safe using them again this year.
I did get an offer last year (which two faculty on the search told me was partially due to these evals) but turned it down due to the low salary.

I would include them. But such evuations are, strickly speaking not commensurate with the job you are applying for.
So what I would do is to admit that in my application letter, sort of an "I know that this is not a part of the standard package, but I thought it might nevertheless be useful to your committee" type thing.

This question has been asked about a gazillion times in this forum. I would recommend using the search function to find detailed answers to your query.
Good luck,
