Canadian faculty salary info

Does anyone on this forum know where to find typical salary information for professors at Canadian universities? While not discipline-specific, the Chronicle (via the AAUP) does a good job of giving ballpark numbers that distinguish salary differences between levels, regions, and university types. Does this information exist publicly for Canadian universities?

I just got a job at a Canadian university, and since the faculty are unionized, base salaries by rank are in the collective agreement -- a public document on the union's website.
I don't know whether the faculty at most Canadian univerities are unionized (though this certainly seems to be the case in the province where I'm headed). But I'd suggest contacting the Canadian Association of University Teachers to see if they have the information you want:
. They also have an excellent booklet on negotiating for new hires, which I got as part of a packet when I met with the faculty union rep during my interview.

The CAUT recently published a very comprehensive listing of Canadian salaries by region, university, subject area, rank, etc. This came with the CAUT newspaper as an insert. So maybe it's available on-line as well.
Many Canadian universities publish basic salary ranges in tables, which gives you a general idea (but your initial placement or level on the table is negotiated at hire).

Almost all Canadian universities are unionized, and even at some universities part time faculties are either in the regular faculty union or have their own union.

If you are negotiating salary at a Canadian University, you can ask the faculty union for help -- they really are on your side and very useful.

Thank you all for your help. Through your guidance, I did come across fairly detailed salary information from the last few years from the CAUT chapter at this particular university. Between the 12-month vs. 9-month difference and a generally lack of knowledge about Canadian academia by professors in the United States, it was initially difficult to get a handle on this. I am interviewing at a particular Canadian university in a week or so and just wanted to have an idea of salary expectations. Thanks again!!

you wrote about a "caut chapter" at the university. The faculty unions and associations in Canadian universities are independent of one another, but they are also members of CAUT. But it isnt like the US system with AFT or NEA...unions are not chapters of a national organization.
