BEST questions to ask?
Guest
« on: June 02, 2005, 09:06:11 AM »

Folks:

I have a phone interview coming up on Monday and just wanted to ask you all what type of questions you would ask the search committee?  I have several in mind, but are there are 'great type of questions' that I should consider asking?

Since this is the second phone interview with the same school (different job, of course), I don't want to repeat the ones I asked last time around.

Thank, gang.

I asked all of my schools but the first (where I accepted the offer) what the tenure expectations were, and what they see as a model of a "successful" assistant professor. I got very useful information in response to this question and was glad I asked it.

Milou:

Thanks for the reply : )

'Model asst. prof' and 'tenure expectations' are great questions to ask -- though it depends on how much time  I'll have for these type of questions.

I will certainly use these two if I get to the campus interview.

Have a great weekend,
