Got a job!

Well, it finally happened. After years of struggling, I finallly landed a good f/t position at a university out of state. The weird thing is that although I might get one or two interviews a semester in the past 18 months, I have suddently received 8 offers to interview after accepting this f/t job.
What's up with that? Is it a feast or famine thing? Or is it that at five years of adjuncting, I somehow looked like a flake, but at 6 years, I suddenly have credibillity? Do committees know that I am the same person I was a year ago (well, maybe a little more fatigued)? I mean, I've always invested in one campus where I work, do work on committees (unpaid) and have worked to develop myself professionally. I didn't go out and get a Ph.D., so I'm just curious what the rush to interview me is all about.
Weird.
Of course, I called back all the other interview offers immediately and turned them down nicely. I thought about writing all the places I applied to -- but that is a huge job. I applied to 130 jobs since August 2004. I mean, I can't even count the number of days where I received more than one rejected letter from a prospective employer. It's depressing. My one advantage is that I can move out of state--not married, no property, hardly any family. I'm lucky.
Any ideas why I suddenly became popular?

Just to say congrats! It's nice to hear. I'm beginning to think I'm a lost soul. I've been teaching ESL but my true background is in Poetry. I just got turned down from a community college in upper Michigan that I really wanted - flew out and all, but still a rejection with no reason, of course. I've been teaching for five years full-time without benefits. I realize from your message that I'm not working hard enough on applying for jobs - 130 apps. wow! Thanks for the positive energy.

Dear 6 years,
Congratulations!!!! The same thing happened to me and I have adjuncted for 4 years. I have no idea why I went from being poison on the market to everyone's desired candidate, but life is strange. For those of you still adjuncting, there is hope for us long-timers. Just keep publishing.

Went from 5 years adjuncting with no prospectives to flavor of this month this year too. Truly weird. Got a job, then I got a lot of calls right afterwards. It's such a bizarre world to work in now.

Yep, same here. Drought for months, then BAM! Five phone interviews, three on campus so far and one to go. Waiting for call from dream job.
Things broke late this year.
I'm feeling very positive.
