Hi,
I am trying to strengthen my vitae and want to do something over the summer (besides publishing) that will make me a better candidate for the search in the fall.

Does anyone know of good opportunites for summer fellowships/grants/workshops in English or Gender Studies?

What area/period of English?

That might help us suggest a few things.

There's the NEH summer seminars and institutes (various topics in a range of humanistic disciplines).  Also, there's the School of Criticism and Theory.  These do have earlier deadlines, and it's nearly May now.  Isn't publishing the best way to strengthen one's vita though?
