Do applications for postdoctoral positions at universities normally require interviews? What about university or private library postdoctoral fellowships?

I think that even jobs at McDonald's require interviews ... . I've never heard of any university or college that didn't require candidates to interview for a job, be it by phone, in-person, or whatever! Postdoctoral positions that I know of certainly require more than a paper application. Unless your adviser was roomies with the postdoc supervisor.
