Okay, this is actually a serious question, I am coming out of the closet here, one of my hobbies away from academic lilfe is astrology (please don't laugh). So, what is your sign? If you know more than your sun sign, share that too. I am a Capricorn.

(p.s. the Getty Institute of which I am past affiliated, is mostly Gemini, so I am guessing these boards might be filled with certain signs as well).

lol.... this is funny I was thinking of this a few hours ago and also this whole thing about 'intuitive' ability.

To be honest with you I don't know how any of this works but I found it too much of a coincidence when I have read certain forecasts from astrologers and have caught my attention for various reasons.

My sign is Pisces and apparently I have an Aries moon...lol don't know what that is supposed to mean :)

I'm a Pisces, and my favorite Garcia Marquez quote comes from his short story "Sleeping Beauty and the airplane." Garcia Marquez is also a Pisces. The quote is, "Oh God! Why couldn't I have been born a Taurus."

I'm a Jackass. Then again, so are most of my colleagues. I hear being a Jackass is a very good sign, right?

Do you read astro charts as well?  Heard they are quite complex.

I do the whole shebang. Astrology is not something to laugh at. I wish it were.  Nearly died in the Northridge Earthquake during first three months of grad school, my chart at that exact hour is pretty much what astrologers would say is a moment of massive accident/death. Well, I lived, and am a believer.  I could go on. But I will let all the crotchety pragmatists pounce.

I am an atheist.  I am also a Gemini, but even though I fit the description of a Gemini to a T, I don't believe in astrology.  I went through an anjoyable period of throwing the I Ching back in the 80s, but since all the answers are based on Taoism, which is in turn based on great good sense and positive thinking, any answer that comes up is worth ruminating over.

I am a Leo, and I am also a lion in bed (my wife always tells me so). Clear proof that astrology works, right?

Seriously, though, it's depressing how many people actually believe in astrology. I just moved to California, and find that here the percentage is much higher than in the East (should not have been surprised, really). And don't get me started on the other new age crud that you find here in incredible quantities. (I am not implying that the rest of the country is immune from it, not at all.)

By the way, have you ever heard of Kepler College (it's not in California)? Check out their website: http://www.kepler.edu/index.html . Here is a quote from their mission statement: "For those Kepler College graduates who wish to pursue a career related to astrological studies, many opportunities are available as researchers, teachers, writers and consultants." Quite truthful, really, and very depressing.
