To Sad,

I'm hoping you found your beagle.

Right there where Darwin left it . . .

Ok, I'm sorry about that one.  I hope the beagle shows up.  We lost our Rhodesian ridgeback to old age, and there was a hole in our life for about a year until we decided we weee ready for a puppy. So we got two of them.

If you don't have a dog, you'll never get it.

Thanks for thinking of me, Miss P.

BTW, is your name inspired by the theatre frequented by Ignatius Reilly?

I hope "Sad" does find his or her beagle. Sounds heartbreaking. If it weren't for my humane-society rescue (1/2 terrier, 1/2 chihuahua), I would NEVER remember to take breaks while grading. He's also always so grateful to see me that I have trouble dating... because you know, those people are not always grateful to see me.

Pets. They're beautiful.

Anyone remember the Humane Society TV commercial with a man dressing in drag--with the dog watching? And he pets the dog before he goes out in full regalia--and the dog licks his face? (I think that's how it goes.) And the tagline is something about how pets don't care how their humans look? That was good.

My cat was so annoyed about the attention I was giving my dissertation toward the end that he hit me in the face while I was glued to my computer. Claws out. I had to get a tetanus shot.

He died a year and a half ago. I miss him still, even if he was psychotic.

I told you-  we ground it up real fine, added a few spices like marjoram and garlic, stuffed it into 1/2 inch casings and called it HOT DOGS!

Wasn't that Jack Tripper's local hangout?
