Should I deny tenure to the idiot who lost my precious baby?

sad is clearly an impostor. My Department Chair would never ask the question so humbly. Either he would brag to everyone on this forum that he was canning an irresponsible colleague or, more likely, is too clueless about the world beyond his fiefdom to have heard of the Chronicle of Higher Education. I don't appreciate everyone making light of my problem.

Just to put matters in perspective: I had a similar thing happen to me: a grad student of mine volunteered to watch my kids while I attended an Abba concert--doggone if he didn't give them away!!! In truth I couldn't really get mad at him, as I really wasnt' all that found of them anyway.

Those who harm beagles should die in the Agony Booth.

If you decide you want them back (say, for tax purposes), try e-bay... I think I saw them advertised...

Are you SURE he gave them away? Didn't eat any yummy stews soon after, did you?

I love beagles. No one should get tenure who lost a beagle.

For every person who lost a beagle there is one who found one.

Then give the finder tenure, not the loser.

not necessarily... for example, beagles lost in the Bermuda triangle never reappear... also haven't you noticed pictures of Beagles on your milk carton?? I think some of those are still missing...
