Our private-messaging system allows you to contact other posters while protecting your privacy and theirs. Private messages show only the usernames of the sender and the recipient. No email addresses are involved. If you're not logged in, private messages stay in your message box until you log in and retrieve them.

You have three ways to send private messages to other posters:

1) When you're inside a post, you can contact the person who wrote it by clicking on the personal message icon (in the shape of a caption bubble). Then type your message and hit 'Send Message.'

2) If you're in a forum, you may click on the name of the poster you wish to send a message to or click on the view profile icon (in the shape of a person) and then click on 'Send this member a personal message' (at the bottom of the page under 'Additional Information:'). Then type your message and hit 'Send Message.'

3) You may click on the 'My Messages' tab, then click on 'New Message' (in the box on the left under 'Messages'), then type your message and hit 'Send Message.'
