Rehnquist's Higher-Education Legacy: Deference to Professors and Administrators

Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist died on Saturday of thyroid cancer. President Bush moved quickly to replace him, on Monday nominating John G. Roberts Jr., the federal judge who was already under consideration to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, to be chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
