U.S. House Approves Amendment That Would Cut Spending on Colleges to Spare Public Broadcasting

The U.S. House of Representatives voted, 284 to 140, on Thursday to cut $27-million from higher-education pilot projects to help avoid cutting $100-million from the budget of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
