The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY
THE QUESTION
RESPONSES
BACKGROUND

I have long been an admirer of Ayn Rand and her novels, particularly The Fountainhead. Though not as philosophically comprehensive as Atlas Shrugged, from an artistic standpoint it is the superior of the two works. As for her viewpoints, I agree with the majority of what she says. However, I do question why so many seem to admire Rand without fully grasping her concepts. That troubles me somewhat. Many of Ayn Rand's followers strike me as the kind of individuals who would be better suited standing on the side of Ellsworth Toohey rather than Howard Roark. Anyway, I am seeking a chat room where her ideas can be intelligently discussed. So far I have failed to locate one. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction?
