
Mr. Parrott writes, "It is quite a trifle to snatch victory against Objectivists, who can be prone to use fallacy, non-sequitur, and ad vericundiam....". What I was trying to say was that Mr. Parrott is confusing Randroids -- those who unthinkingly spout her ideas without proper understanding -- with serious admirers of Rand, who despise Randroids. The former are guilty of these offenses. (Sometimes they may be forgiven on the grounds that they are 17 years old and will outgrow this condition.) If Mr. Parrott wants to think about Rand, then, having an MS in philosophy, he should talk to educated people about her, rather than to Randroids. Philosophy professors exist who advocate Rand's ideas -- that was the occasion for this article in The Chronicle.
